BRITPOP MAGAZINE COVER ANALYSIS


This magazine is going to different mine because of the lay out and because of the type of music and audience.

The writing on the front cover is very noticeable and easy to read. On the front cover of the magazine is a picture of a band called, ’blur’. Blur were mainly pop which got them a spot on the front cover of this magazine. Underneath the photograph of blur is a quote saying, ‘the insane story of Britpop’s triumphant comeback kings’, this will make people that like Britpop and who like the music and bands in the magazine want to buy and read this issue. Also the font on the front cover is blue, red and white which is the colours of the union jack. These colours are ideal to the magazine as it is a British magazine. This magazine has two photographs on it. One of the photographs is blur (a pop/punk band) and the other photograph is a photo of oasis. These are very famous which will make people want to read the magazine. There are two side captions on the left of the cover saying, ‘OASIS their mad ride to glory!’, and the other one reads, ‘WELLER the mad warrior fights back’. Again these side captions give the public a hint at what is in the magazine which is meant to tempt people into buying the magazine to read the articles.
